In automatic mode, the charger stops charging once the battery reaches full capacity and can remain connected while monitoring and maintaining battery charge. In manual mode, the charger continues charging until the timer expires or the unit is switched off, requiring the operator to monitor charging. When used by experienced users, manual mode can also be used for equalisation charging to help balance voltage across battery cells.
