🚐 REDARC TOW-PRO® ELITE ELECTRIC TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER

EBRH-ACCV3 – Proportional & User Controlled Trailer Braking for 12V & 24V Vehicles

⚡ Advanced electric trailer brake control with selectable braking modes, Active Calibration, compact remote operation and support for demanding towing applications.

The REDARC Tow-Pro® Elite EBRH-ACCV3 is a premium electric trailer brake controller designed to provide smooth, dependable and adjustable trailer braking across everyday road use, touring, off-road conditions and demanding towing environments.

Featuring selectable Proportional and User Controlled braking modes, the Tow-Pro® Elite allows the driver to choose the braking behaviour that best suits the road surface, terrain, trailer and vehicle combination.

Its compact remote-head design requires minimal dashboard space, while the main control unit can be securely installed in virtually any orientation inside the vehicle cabin. Active Calibration continuously learns and confirms the vehicle’s direction of travel, simplifying installation and helping deliver accurate proportional braking.

⚡ KEY FEATURES

🚐 Proportional Braking Mode
Automatically applies trailer braking in proportion to vehicle deceleration for smooth, predictable braking during highway and everyday towing.

🏕️ User Controlled Braking Mode
Applies trailer brakes according to the level selected by the driver, making it particularly useful for off-road, loose-surface and precision braking applications.

🧭 Active Calibration
Continuously monitors vehicle direction of travel and learns the controller’s installed orientation while driving.

🔄 Flexible Main Unit Mounting
The main controller can be securely mounted in any orientation inside the vehicle cabin without requiring manual levelling.

⚡ 12V & 24V Vehicle Compatibility
Designed to operate electric trailer brakes from compatible 12V or 24V vehicle electrical systems without manual voltage selection.

🚛 Supports Up to 3 Trailer Axles
Suitable for compatible electric-brake trailers with braking systems across up to three axles.

🎛️ Compact Remote Head
Keeps dashboard intrusion to a minimum while placing braking adjustment and manual override within convenient reach of the driver.

🛑 Manual Trailer Brake Override
Allows trailer brakes to be applied independently when required, including situations where trailer-only braking may help manage sway.

🔵 Easy LED Status Indication
The remote control LED provides clear feedback for operating mode, braking level, calibration and detected faults.

🧠 Intelligent Park Brake Feature
Can intelligently manage trailer braking when the vehicle remains stationary with the brakes applied.

🔌 Electric/Hydraulic Compatibility
Suitable for compatible electric/hydraulic trailer braking systems when installed according to the braking-system and vehicle requirements.

🛡️ Integrated Diagnostics
Built-in fault monitoring uses colour-coded LED sequences to alert the driver to potential controller, wiring or trailer-brake issues.

🔵 PROPORTIONAL BRAKING MODE

Proportional Mode is designed for normal road, highway and everyday towing applications.

In this mode, the Tow-Pro® Elite measures vehicle deceleration and applies the trailer brakes proportionally.

Simply put, the harder the tow vehicle brakes, the harder the trailer brakes are applied, up to the maximum level selected using the control knob.

This provides smooth and intuitive trailer braking with minimal driver input once the desired braking level has been set.

🟢 USER CONTROLLED BRAKING MODE

User Controlled Mode provides direct driver-selected trailer braking output.

Instead of automatically varying trailer brake output according to vehicle deceleration, the Tow-Pro® Elite applies the trailer brakes according to the braking level selected on the control knob.

This mode can be particularly useful for off-road towing, loose surfaces and other situations where the driver wants more direct control over trailer brake force.

The selected braking level should always be adjusted to suit the trailer load, road surface and operating conditions.

🧭 ACTIVE CALIBRATION TECHNOLOGY

The Tow-Pro® Elite incorporates Active Calibration technology to simplify installation and operation.

After installation, the controller learns and continually confirms its orientation and the vehicle’s direction of travel while the vehicle is driven and the brakes are applied.

Calibration can occur with or without a trailer connected.

Under normal driving conditions, the controller progressively becomes more confident in its orientation until full Proportional Mode operation is available.

This technology eliminates the need for the installer to manually level the main control unit.

🔄 FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION

The Tow-Pro® Elite main unit can be securely installed in any orientation inside the vehicle cabin.

This provides significant flexibility when finding a suitable installation position behind the dashboard or within another protected cabin location.

The unit must be securely mounted to a fixed surface so that its orientation cannot change after calibration.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The main unit must be installed inside the vehicle cabin and protected from engine heat, water, salt spray, excessive humidity and other environmental conditions that may damage the controller.

🎛️ MINIMAL DASHBOARD SPACE REQUIRED

Unlike traditional brake controllers that require a large control box to be mounted on the dashboard, the Tow-Pro® Elite uses a separate compact remote head.

The main controller can be concealed behind the dashboard while the driver interacts with the small rotary control knob.

The remote head can be installed in a suitable dashboard, centre-console or compatible switch-panel position, helping maintain a clean factory-style interior.

🛑 MANUAL TRAILER BRAKE OVERRIDE

Pressing the Tow-Pro® Elite control knob while driving activates the manual trailer-brake override.

This applies the trailer brakes independently of the normal vehicle braking input.

The function can be useful where trailer-only braking is required, including certain trailer-sway situations.

In Proportional Mode, manual override applies a light trailer-braking level. In User Controlled Mode, it applies the braking level selected on the control knob.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Manual override supplements the normal vehicle braking system and must not be used as a replacement for the vehicle foot brake.

⚡ 12V & 24V VEHICLE SYSTEMS

The Tow-Pro® Elite has an operating voltage range of approximately 9V to 32V and is designed for use with compatible 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems.

For conventional electric trailer brakes, the controller can operate from either 12V or 24V vehicle electrical systems without requiring manual voltage selection or an additional voltage converter for the controller itself.

This makes the Tow-Pro® Elite particularly versatile across passenger vehicles, 4WDs, commercial vehicles and other compatible tow vehicles.

🔌 ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC TRAILER BRAKE SUPPORT

The Tow-Pro® Elite can also be used with compatible electric/hydraulic trailer braking systems.

On compatible 12V vehicle systems, the controller can provide the brake-control signal required by suitable electric/hydraulic systems, although the hydraulic actuator may require its own separate power supply.

For a 24V vehicle supplying a braking system that requires 12V control signals, a suitable adapter such as the REDARC EB24A may be required.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Always confirm compatibility and wiring requirements with the electric/hydraulic actuator manufacturer before installation.

🚛 SUPPORTS TRAILERS UP TO 3 AXLES

The Tow-Pro® Elite is designed to operate compatible electric trailer braking systems across trailers with up to three axles.

This makes it suitable for a broad range of caravans, camper trailers, boat trailers, car trailers, equipment trailers and other braked towing applications.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Trailer mass, brake requirements and brake-controller regulations vary by jurisdiction. Always ensure the trailer, braking system and tow vehicle comply with applicable legal requirements.

🛡️ SWAY CONTROL & BRAKING SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY

The Tow-Pro® Elite is approved for use with compatible AL-KO ESC and Dexter DSC sway-control systems when installed according to the relevant manufacturer requirements.

The controller also provides support for AL-KO iQ7 electric/hydraulic systems, with configurable iQ7 warning functionality available through the Tow-Pro® Elite controls.

Always verify the installation requirements of any ESC, sway-control or electric/hydraulic system fitted to the trailer.

🚦 ADR-COMPLIANT REMOTE INSTALLATION

When correctly installed according to REDARC’s instructions, the compact Tow-Pro® Elite remote head is designed to comply with relevant Australian Design Rule requirements for dashboard-mounted controls.

Its remote-head architecture also helps avoid bulky equipment around the driver’s knees and lower dashboard area.

🧠 INTELLIGENT PARK BRAKE FEATURE

When the controller detects that the vehicle remains stationary with the brakes applied for more than approximately three seconds, the Tow-Pro® Elite can intelligently manage trailer-brake output.

This helps provide sufficient braking effort to reduce the risk of the trailer combination rolling while avoiding unnecessary continuous maximum trailer-brake application.

🔵 LED STATUS & FAULT INDICATION

The Tow-Pro® Elite remote-head LED provides clear visual feedback to the driver.

  • Blue indication – Proportional Mode
  • Green indication – User Controlled Mode
  • Blue/Green flashing – Active Calibration in progress
  • Increasing Red indication – Trailer braking output increasing
  • Other flashing sequences – Diagnostic or fault indication

The integrated diagnostic system can detect a range of potential trailer-brake, wiring, supply and controller faults.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do not tow while an active fault code is present. A fault may indicate unreliable trailer braking, brake-light failure or another condition requiring investigation.
